Canonical URL: <https://training.sdfm.org/courses/cisco-certified-network-associate-ccna-certification>

## Overview

This is a five-day class that teaches learners how to install, operate, configure, and verify a basic IPv4 and IPv6 network, including configuring network components (such as switches, routers, and Wireless LAN Controller), managing network devices, and identifying basic security threats. Today’s job roles are ever-changing. The new CCNA will now cover wireless, an overview of SD-WAN, DNA Center, and Security threats. The goal of the course is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills that are necessary to install, configure, and operate a small to medium-sized network.

## What you'll learn

- Understand computer network fundamentals, including routing, switching, LANs, Ethernet, TCP/IP layers, and IPv4 addressing with subnetting.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers, including VLANs, trunks, inter-VLAN routing, and static/dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF.
- Configure network services, including DHCP, NAT, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and link aggregation using EtherChannel.
- Describe and implement wireless networking concepts, architectures, Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), and related configurations.
- Explore network programmability, virtualization, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions, including Cisco DNA Center™, SD-Access, and SD-WAN.
- Apply network security best practices, manage Cisco devices, and implement basic device hardening against current security threats.

## Prerequisites

Students should know how to use Microsoft Excel, and have a basic understanding of data types such as text, numbers, and dates.
